A Purpose Driven Life

Every one of us on this earth has a DREAM. Some of us are pursuing our dreams but a lot of us have given up because seems too unrealistic, difficult, or impossible.

Some of us tried and failed. Some of us haven't even started yet. And a lot of us are just going through the motion in life with no drive or motive behind anything we do.

This is a life without purpose. But this isn't the life any of us really want to live...

In 2016 I finally got accepted into the University of Iowa Pharmacy school program after slaving 3 years of hardcore pre-requisites. After taking a year off to establish residency, I read two books that changed my life: Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Think & Grow Rich. Long story short, despite the student debt, family cursing me out, and "time wasted," I decided to drop out of college.

One of my favorite motivational speakers, Leslie Brown, once said: "If you're not willing to risk, you can't grow... If you can't grow then you can't become your best... If you can't become your best then you can't be happy... And if you can't be happy, then what else is there?"

This ain't nothing but the TRUTH! It truly bothers me when I see people slaving away at a job they dislike, going to school for something they don't want to do, or waking up every day, just frustrated at the life they live.

If your job or career is stealing away your happiness then you need to quit ASAP! Or at least create a plan to change your situation immediately so you can save yourself the stress. Dropping out of college was the best decision of my life even though I haven't seen the fruits of my labor yet. I'm happy because I can fully focus on my passion even if I'm still struggling with debt!

When we are living a life without purpose, we get bored easily and we feel unfulfilled. When boredom strikes, there's lack of creativity! If we form a habit of doing things we dislike, then we put ourselves in danger to thinking it's okay to be stagnant in life. This isn't the life we were designed to live! There's no growth in complacency.

God wants us all to live an abundant life, filled with love, joy, peace and prosperity! But sometimes it's hard to figure out what we were put on this earth for... Author Rick Warren was right on the money when he said:

"Focusing on ourselves will never reveal our life's purpose. We were created by God and for God and until we understand this, life will never make sense!"- The Purpose Driven Life. This quote & book changed my whole perspective on life forever g. We did not create ourselves, so it's impossible to figure out what we were created for unless we go to the source, our Creator.

I know it's easier said than done, but all we have to do is some soul searching. We have to reflect on our life and think about what we're passionate about. Think about the gifts God has blessed us with. What we're naturally good at and use to do a lot as a child. These are hints to what we should be doing in this life. The good news is, it's never too late to step into our purpose and become best friends with our Creator.

God is calling us to enter into a genuine relationship with Him. A relationship where we can talk to Him as a best friend or a loving family member.  The Lord says if we lack wisdom we should ask. I ask God for Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding everyday. I also ask Him what my purpose is and to guide me into the right direction that He wants me to go. This is the only way He can reveal our life's purpose to us.

At the end of the day, we all define success differently. But I think we can all agree that as long as we are living a lifestyle that is positive and make us happy, then we are truly successful.

Stay positive, stay encouraged, stay blessed.
